Current Sensor HDM10 or HDM14 for LocoIO
In a digital layout are current sensors the best way to detected trains in a section. Even if trains are standing still there is always a decoder or lamp or LED that consume some current that is been possible to detect. Sections can be made by providing each electrically isolated rail with a digital power supply through its own current detector.
HDM14 for only Digital layouts
The current sensor Transformer has no voltage loss on the digital signal and can detect better low currents.
Pcb with 4 current sensors can be used for all scales
- Per rail section is maximum power consumption:
8A for HDM14D version 4.0 for all scale
10A for HDM14E version 3.0 for scale O, I and G
- The sum of digital power consumption is maximum per digital input:
12A for HDM14D version 4.0 for all scale
18A for HDM14E version 3.0 for scale O, I and G

HDM10 for Analog and Digital layouts
Still available, but not recommended for new digital train tracks, HDM14 is better and cheaper.
Pcb with 4 current sensors and 1 AC-optocoupler IC
Documentation (version 06/12/2022)
This is a simple and good working current detection for digital and Anologe trains. It
can be connected to LocoIO, marklin S88, Viesmann 5217, Uhlenbrock 63350, Lenz
LR101, ...
From the HDM10 pcb you can also make an universal voltage detection module. This can been used to detect both DC and AC voltages (see manual).
For N-scale detection you can do some modifications for more sensitive detection (see manual)
